Ria Dhamejani, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Ria, a senior, is one of our co-editors-in-chief, and this is her third year on the Gazette staff.

She hurriedly drives from school wondering how hectic the rest of her day will be. While opening the glass door, the strong scent of coffee and caramel hits her. Even in a store filled with baked goods, and a seemingly endless supply of caffeine, the question that replays in her mind is what else do I have to do later?

Balancing academics, being the co-editor-in-chief of The Gazette, president of Unheard and a job whilst applying for colleges seems exhausting to merely think about. Despite two years of her high school career being cut short, her countless responsibilities meant that Dhamejani had no choice but to bounce back quickly.

“Unheard” at GBHS is a social justice club that is devoted to giving the students of Granite Bay a voice.

Her passion to work with others in order to improve and connect her community does not alter her views on independence.

"As a freshman I went ahead and took Principles of Business, and moved forward with the curriculum. I can confidently say that it is one of the only subjects that I thoroughly enjoy,” Dhamejani said.

With moving forward in the future towards the business field, she seeks to pursue a job where she can be independent as well as influence other young students to be diligent and work towards success.

“There is a lot of time and dedication that goes into it, but it is worth it in the end.”
