Sumanth Ganga, a talented alto saxophone player and a senior at Granite Bay High School, recently reached a big milestone in his music career as a young artist. Because of his hard work, dedication and skill, he was the Grand Prize winner and earned a place in the Auburn Symphony, a non profit community orchestra in Placer California.
The award was given to Ganga earlier this year to recognize his strong performance and dedication to music. People praised his tone, control and confidence on the saxophone. Soon after receiving the award, Ganga was invited to rehearsals and performances with the Auburn Symphony, a well-known group made of lots of other skilled musicians.
“I was really surprised and excited,” Ganga said. “I’ve been practicing for years and it feels great to have it pay off finally.”
Ganga has been playing the alto saxophone for seven years and is known by friends and teachers as someone with great musicality and determination. He spends countless hours practicing in and outside of school. His love for music is clear when he gets up on stage and mesmerizes the audience with his musicality and unmatchable talent.
Alli Franz, a friend of Ganga’s and also in the Granite Bay High School Band with him, claims that he is very talented and that she looks up to him greatly.
“He has a really strong work ethic when it comes to music, and I can tell he’s very passionate about it, and seeing him excel with his instrument makes you want to do better online,” Franz said.
Lynn Lewis, who mentors and teaches Ganga, claimed that his successes did not happen overnight. She states that Ganga is very dedicated. He listens, learns and works hard every day. His opportunity is well-deserved.
Being able to be a part of the Auburn Symphony is a big honor, especially for such a young student. The symphony is known for its high standards and challenging music. Ganga’s new position allows him to showcase his talents and hard word to more people. He hopes that his achievement will inspire others to also follow their passion.
“If you love something, keep working at it because you never know where it might take you later on,” Ganga said.
With an award already earned at a place like the Auburn Symphony, his future is looking very bright, continuing to follow his dream.
