

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
A: I’m a mom of three. I have a new freshman here at the school, a sixth grader and a fourth grader, and I love all things sports. I’ve been in the area ever since I was a little girl, and I’m really excited to be here at Granite Bay.
Q: Why did you choose to work at Granite Bay?
A: I worked in a school setting before this, and just figured it was time to continue to progress, and I felt like working with high school students would be a lot of fun. And since my son was going into high school, it was kind of just the best of both worlds.
Q: What made you specifically want to work in the office?
A: I was just excited for the opportunity to try something new. I’d been in the classroom before. I love greeting people and having conversations, and feel like the first person they see can make an impact on how their day is going to be. So it’s nice to see the kids walk in, give them a big smile and let them know we’re really happy they’re here.
Q: What do you like about Granite Bay so far?
A: So far, everyone is super nice and very welcoming. It’s been really interesting just seeing familiar faces and then new faces as well. I’ve really enjoyed how welcoming and kind everybody is here. It’s a great school.
Q: What do you like to do outside of school? Any hobbies?
A: I love the beach. That’s probably my favorite place to be, but most likely, I’m at a sporting event with my kids.
Q: Is there anything else you would like the students to know about you?
A: I’m super happy to welcome them into the office, and please feel free to always come by and say hi. It makes my day.

Q: Can you tell the students a bit about yourself?
A: I live in Rocklin. I have two kids. My family moved here seven years ago from Chicago for my husband’s job, but we love it here. I’ve been a nurse for almost 20 years, most of the time I’ve worked in pediatrics. I had to do some rheumatology research, and I stayed home with my kids for eight years when they were little. I really love school nursing, and I like being here at Granite Bay. In my free time. I like to be active. I like to go to hot yoga and pilates, go out to dinner with friends and just spend time with family.
Q: What do you do here at Granite Bay?
A: I’m the school nurse here, so I’m in the health office most of the time, like taking care of sick or injured kids. I do health care plans for kids, I attend different meetings, I do immunization stuff and just keep everybody at school up to date on the California Department of Public Health like guidelines.
Q: Why did you choose this specific position?
A: I have friends that work for Roseville Joint Union High School District at different schools. I had two friends who are nurses, one at West Park and then one at Woodcreek, and they just spoke very highly of it. And my friends who are teachers at West Park spoke highly about the district. So I was a school nurse in Sacramento, but this is closer to home.
Q: Why did you decide to work at Granite Bay specifically?
A: I’ve been at the school before. My younger daughter did the swim team, the Gators, and we’ve had some of my kids dance recitals here. And just when I did the interview everybody was super friendly.
Q: What is the most difficult part of your job?
A: I think being new here. The protocols here versus my old school, I was at that district for five years, so I kind of had everything down. And things are very similar, but there’s some things that are different, and so just getting used to that.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Just interacting with all the people, both staff and students and parents and guardians as well. If I can help people and make their day better, it’s a very rewarding experience.
Q: Is there anything else students should know about you?
A: My oldest is going to be in high school next year, but she’s going to Whitney. But my little one, she’s at St Albans Country Day, and most of her friends are coming here, so she’s going to be here eventually.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
A: Absolutely, so I was born and raised here. It used to be Roseville before it was Granite Bay. I went to Oakmont High School. Graduated there the year that Granite Bay High School opened here. I love to play soccer. I coached competitively for many, many years. I have two children, one boy, one girl. One graduated here two years ago, and then I have a daughter here, Grace, that’s a junior. I love school here. I think it’s so fun. I love the spirit days. I love getting involved with the students here. Things about me and my personal life : I love to go hiking, camping. I love farm animals. I have goats and chickens and dogs. And I mean, 27 pets, it’s ridiculous. On my free time, it’s taking care of them or running around with my children to their sports and activities, and then the rest time, it’s here.
Q: What do you do here at Granite Bay?
A: I’m student services here. Student Services is basically here to support the students, however I can. But in addition to that, it’s helping them with their fines, or if it’s dances (or) different activities that are coming up, (I) help them find out where the information is for that. I handle all the finances for all the ASB accounts, and then I am the support for clubs and advisors for those. I do all the finances for the sporting events as well, and have all of that ready to go for any events coming up. And pretty much, I’m just here to answer any kids’ questions.
Q: Why did you choose this position specifically?
A: Well, my background. I did bookkeeping for a really long time, so I understood the financial side of it, and I really, really like working with kids. So to me, it was a great position for me so I can support kids in any way that I possibly can here.
Q: What made you want to work at Granite Bay?
A: Probably because I was born and raised here. I was here all the time. Anyways, between volunteering for booster programs or taking pictures at sporting events, because I’m a photographer on the side as well. Yeah, I just was here all the time, and my kids went here, so I thought, why not work at the school that they’re at? It’s been a great transition.
Q: What is your favorite sporting event to photograph?
A: Football. But you know, all sports are amazing. I think more outdoor sports are easier, so that’s why it’s more fun to take outdoor sports than is indoor, because the lighting. But yeah, I would say football. There’s just a lot of action the entire time.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about?
A: I’m a mom of two. My daughter is named Violet, and she’s a sophomore here. And my son is named Keith, and he goes to Cavitt junior high. I have been married to my husband for 20 years.
Q: What do you do here at Granite Bay?
A: I am newly the registrar. Formerly, I was the assistant to the counselors, and I just switched over to the registrar. So I handle things like updating transcripts, helping teachers with grade books, working with all the files.
Q: What made you choose this position specifically?
A: I loved working with the counselors, because I really enjoyed them. And then I also enjoyed working with the kids. But when this position became open, I thought it would be a good challenge. And I’m still here, so that’s the part that I really like about Granite Bay.
Q: What is your favorite part about working here?
A: I love the energy of everybody. Everybody’s full of energy, and every day is different, which makes it exciting to come to work. You never know what’s gonna happen today.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: So I like to do things with my family. I like to do things with my friends. I like to shop and travel. I would like to do more traveling, hopefully in the future.
Q: What do you like most about this specific position?
A: I’m brand new. My old position, it would have been the kids. Now, I would say the challenges of every day. Every day, I have to figure out different formulas or something different. So that’s kind of fun. It’s kind of a challenge.
Q; What made you choose Granite Bay specifically?
A: So I went to Granite Bay many years ago, and then with my kids being here, it’s kind of like being back at home.
Q: Is there anything else students should know about you?
A: Like I said, I guess I’m an alumni, so that’s pretty fun. My husband also went here. And if they ever need anything, I’m here.
