The moon hangs low in the cool night sky as a haunting melody fills the air. Olivia Rodrigo’s new music video contains a dark aura that fills the space the singer-songwriter is enclosed by. Many fans eagerly await the release of Rodrigo’s new single ‘Vampire’, a song that combines two powerful themes, love and revenge. ‘Vampire’, casts a spell on listeners with its haunting melodies and pure raw emotions.

In “Vampire”, Rodrigo explores the dark side of love. The powerful song takes her audience on a captivating journey where they explore the complexities and difficulties of relationships. Through her powerful lyrics, many fans find themselves relating to her song. ‘Vampire’ is an experience of love, passion, vulnerability and self-discovery.

“I really liked this song when I first heard it just because I just found myself really relating to it,” said Cocofie Kirk, a sophomore at Granite Bay High School.

Kirk is not the only one relating to the lyrics, many others find that they can deeply resonate with the profound lyrics.

What I personally liked about this song is mainly the music video. When the viewer really takes time to juxtapose the music video with the song, they will see that it correlates perfectly. I really admired the gloomy and intense vibe of the music video, which ironically matches the song title, “Vampire”.

Subsequently, another factor of this song that I found myself and others enjoying was the lyrics. The heartfelt and sincere lyrics that Rodrigo conveys throughout the song makes many people deeply relate to every word of her song. That is why ‘Vampire’ was number one in its first week of being released on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The rhythm and sound of the overall song was also phenomenal, making the song itself very catchy and pleasing to listen to.

I was also very amused by the cover art, as it was perfect for the theme of a “vampire”, because of its cool, dark and gloomy colors, and Rodrigo’s pose in it.

This song was my personal favorite in the whole “Guts” album, but either way, it was incredible to see the return of Olivia Rodrigo.
