Student Spotlight: Caitlin Crook

Q: How is Granite Bay different from your old home in Temecula?

A: Temecula was a hot desert, it’s greener here. I love the trees and weather.

Q: How do you use makeup to express yourself?

A: Makeup is a temporary art form with no rules or restrictions. I can create something new everyday. It’s very personal and I can use themes or colors to represent my feelings/thoughts. I love being able to show my art to the world through my appearance.

Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

A: I used to take classes and am now fluent in American Sign Language.

Q: What advice do you have for others wanting to express themselves in new ways?

A: Let go of anything that may be holding you back artistically. Don’t compare yourself to others or feel like you aren’t able to achieve what you aspire to be and appreciate the process. No matter where you’re starting, be persistent and confident in your abilities.
