Dutch Bros Holiday Lineup
Candy Cane Cold Brew Vs. Iced Sweater Weather Chai White Coffee
Sweater Weather Chai White Coffee Dutch Bros
Sweater Weather was a bad idea for Dutch Bros.
The drink is white chocolate with a double shot of white coffee, soft top and cinnamon & nutmeg sprinkles
When I first picked up the Sweater Weather I had hope, due to the light smell of chai with a hint of pumpkin and cinnamon. With only a little bit of nutmeg sprinkled on top, I thought maybe it’s not as bad as everyone is saying.
As I took my first sip the glimpse of hope dwindled. I am a coffee lover. Going in I knew that this drink wouldn’t be the best idea.
But this taste brings back something I recognize from childhood, taste of summers playing Bean Boozled with my family. The smell of that box when you first opened it it’s not something you forget quite easily and here I am years later unsuspectingly drinking what I thought was going to be a sweet coffee. If you’ve ever played Bean Boozled you know that it’s not a fun game, the jellybeans in this game you usually don´t wanna put in your mouth, so drinking this coffee was not what I expected.
The taste was rich, tart and tangy and the texture was biting, confusing and creamy but not in a good way. It was like milk that had gone bad. The milk taste was to be expected but not in this way.
time. I was drinking it, but I kept pushing myself to take another step thinking if it would get better. It in fact did not get better, instead it got worse. I wish I could get my $5.40 back. Would not recommend.
Rating: 0.5/10 (I feel too guilty to give it a zero out of 10.)
Candy Cane Cold Brew
The smell of candy canes and peppermint reminds me of Christmas, it’s just one of the most magical times a year. This peppermint mocha made me feel right at home.
As I took my first sip, I was reminded of sitting around the Christmas tree. On Christmas morning, having hot chocolate with peppermint on top, Candy cane Cold brew has the same smell.
The coffee was like any other cold brew, not too sweet and not too strong. Compared to the other coffee I have tried in the past it was very favorable. With the glossy but creamy and smooth delightful texture and the crushed candy canes on top, almost like little icicles was a perfect touch.
The taste was fresh, peppermint and rich. I feel like it is hard to find a peppermint drink which was surprising because they are usually too strong that isn’t too strong. I was happily surprised when it was not overpowering.
Overall it was minty but had a touch of cream to it which was superb. I would definitely come back especially for only $5.15.
